On Sunday, July 13 Young Audiences will celebrate summer, arts, and the 2014 Sunburst Award winners with Summer Celebration—a free event for the whole family. Kids of all ages are invited to create their own puppets, sing along with local kindie music star Red Yarn, and beat the heat with locally produced treats. Since 1996, Young Audiences has honored the individuals and organizations that go above and beyond for the arts with Sunburst Awards. This year Young Audiences will recognize three local arts champions:

• Principal of the Year: Susan McElroy, D.A. Grout Elementary (Portland)
• Teacher of the Year: Esther Lindbloom, Cooper Mountain Elementary (Beaverton)
• Teaching Artist of the Year: Andy Furgeson (aka Red Yarn)

What:  Summer Celebration! Live music and puppet making for all ages.

When:  Sunday, July 13^th from 2:30pm-4:30pm; Red Yarn performance at 3:15pm
