Using recyclables, fabric, yarn and assorted tactile materials, students create curriculum-based weavings on a supported framework. Projects are small or large scale, individual or collaborative, with possible auction and installation art options.

Please note: Auction and installation projects incur extra costs for supplies and artist materials preparation (see below). A minimum of 12 sessions per week required.

About the Artist

Peggy Ross

Peggy, a YA Artist of the Year, delights in helping students build their art muscles. As a studio artist, she paints, collages and weaves. Peggy holds a BA in studio art, has completed Kennedy Center and Arts for Learning training and is educated in costuming and textiles. Peggy has been inspiring students to learn and create in school classrooms, art centers, clubs, camps and colleges since 1995.

Please note that the cost of a program is determined based on a variety of different factors including number of sessions, planning hours needed and material costs. In Class	Supplies		Plan on $5-$7 per student. Add $150 per classroom for large collaborative weavings. Costs and availability can be volatile. Check with artist before final budgeting. School community collects and prepares some materials.
In Class	Materials Preparation Fee		Expect materials preparation costs for time spent preparing materials outside of program days. $50-$200 per contract WITHOUT large collaborative weavings. Additional $100 for collaborative weavings.
In Class	Planning Meeting	100.00	An in person planning meeting with partnering teachers is required for residencies.
In Class	Mileage/Travel Costs		IRS mileage rate charged per round trip from Cedar Hill Library. Drive time longer than 60 min per round trip, billed at rate of $60/hr. Program available within 25 mi from Cedar Hills library. Greater distances possible with add'l fees (lodging, etc.).
In Class	Equipment Use		Expect equipment use fees determined by scope of the project. $25-$50 per contract.
In Class	Prep Hours	100.00	Cost per hour spent on activities in support of the program (e.g. setting up/cleaning a classroom, research, curriculum development, etc.). Plan on 1-2 hrs./classroom (fewer classrooms on the higher range). Add .5 prep hours per classroom for large collaborative weavings.
In Class	Additional Planning	100.00	Additional planning time with teachers or volunteers, etc.
In Class	Residency Session	100.00	A residency is a program with 3 or more sessions per classroom. Residency session prices are based on a 50 minute session. Some artists may prefer different session lengths and will pro-rate the cost.
