Suit Up and Save the World

This program offered by: Rick Huddle

The conflict resolution process presented in a super-hero themed assembly. In an interactive collection of skits & songs, students discover their real-life super power to save humanity by solving conflicts with their minds and words.

Your students will learn steps and tools that they can use to become their own real-life super hero and solve their own conflicts.

Participants learn and practice skills like:

– how to effectively interrupt the conflict cycle

– using “when … I felt …” statements to communicate emotions & desires

– the power of listening to others

– how to find a “win-win” resolution

We highly recommend that schools split their students into two performances. Performances are 30 minutes for K-2 and 35-40 minutes for 3-5.

“After the presentation, first grade reflected on Rick’s problem-solving superpowers in the story. We made connection with the habits of the mind. The students realized that when the character stopped and thought, he was using his metacognition. They were also able to identify the mind’s habit of being flexible and listening. In the end they realized that Rick used the 16 habits of the mind in his story.” Teacher- Vose Elementary, Beaverton, OR

“Both teachers and students had a great time. The way the important message is sent is perfect for the age of my students. I recommend it!”- Teacher, Arco Iris Spanish Immersion School, Beaverton, OR
