Mixed Media Mini Portraits with Paper Clay

Creating a portrait can be a great way to connect with social studies biographical subjects, or to explore one’s own social-emotional inner world.

In this residency Miss Lulu will guide students in sculpting a bas-relief portrait using air-dry paper clay. Students will also paint a background for the portrait that relates to the subject.

Instruction in sculpting the portrait is step-by-step for student success. The portraits are multi-dimensional and the painting process brings the finished piece to life.
