Dancers Are Athletes!

This program offered by: Oregon Ballet Theater

In Dancers are Athletes students will explore the physicality of dance and learn to express themselves through athletic movement. Perseverance, endurance and excellence are over-arching themes of this dance residency. In learning basic body mechanics and major muscle groups, students can develop exciting movements relevant to both dance and sports, such as increasing vertical jump and gaining flexibility all through the lens of ballet. Students will practice or rehearse original choreography that may be shared with parents or others as an informal performance on the last day of class, if desired.
