Learn to make paper airplanes and targets! Test your paper airplane folding and throwing skills!
Learning Target
● I can create targets and obstacles for paper airplanes.
● I can fold different styles of paper airplanes that fly in different ways.
Materials
● Construction paper
● Pencil
● Tape
● Scissors
● Any other kind of paper for folding airplanes!
Instructions
1. Tape two pieces of construction paper together and draw a large circle across both. Make sure your circle is big enough to fit a paper airplane through it, then cut it out.
2. Cut another circle out of a single piece of construction paper, and tape it over the empty circle on the other two pieces. Learn to make paper airplanes and targets! Test your paper airplane folding and throwing skills!
3. You have made a target!
4. Fold your paper airplane! Below are instructions for a classic dart airplane.
5. Tape your target under a table or any other place you can throw an airplane through. Then see how far back you can sit and throw your airplane through the hole!
6. What other obstacles can you make to test your different paper airplanes?
Reflection
Write in your journal or draw in your sketchbook
● What kind of airplanes are easiest to aim? What kind fly the fastest or the farthest?
● Do you think the kind of paper make a difference? Does the size of paper make a difference? Try it out!
● What can you do to make airplanes and obstacles look more interesting?
