Artist Biography
Cathy is a muralist, children's illustrator, and mixed media fine artist. She has been creating fun and educational murals in schools for over 15 years. Her vividly colorful works are always a collaboration with the goal of giving a voice to the students and empowering creativity. Hopefully those that view her murals feel the joy and energy that went into them.
Teaching Philosophy
Cathy is inspired by the process of tool making in art. Artists often have to make their own tools to solve a problem in the artwork, and this skill can be applied to problem solving in life. Through the creative process of tool making Cathy helps students make connections to their own well of grit and a larger cultural story.
