Build-A-Band with Mo Phillips
Learning Target: I can collaboratively refine and organize my musical idea/composition. I can explain the intention of my group’s musical choices, and how they express ideas about our community.
Learning Summary: Students will be introduced to the art of songwriting. We will explore two major elements of songwriting: lyrics and melody. Students will also work collaboratively and will practice the art of listening and building as a team.
Arts Standard: Art: MU.2.CR2.3. Demonstrate selected musical ideas for a simple improvisation or composition to express intent, and describe connection to a specific purpose and context. Use standard and/or iconic notation and/or recording technology to document personal rhythmic and melodic musical ideas.
SEL Standard: "Standard 4: Relationship Skills & Collaborative Problem-Solving: Establish and maintain healthy, supportive relationships and effectively navigate diverse settings in order to collaboratively solve problems."
