An introduction to the drumming of Ghana, West Africa. Students learn the specific techniques in order to get different sounds from the drums. Each student learns how to create a solo and how to work together as a member of an ensemble. The students will learn about polyrhythms and how to create them.

This program may be done as a residency or a single session workshop.

About the Artist

Woshishijee- New Beginnings with Alex Addy & Michael Akoto

Alex was born in Ghana and came to the US to join his father, Obo Addy. He performs across the US and teaches in Portland. Michael was also born into music and dancing. He taught and performed in Accra, Ghana, before moving to the US to do the same.

In Class	Mileage/Travel Costs		For sites located more than 15 miles from the 97220 zip code, an additional mileage fee will be applied and is calculated using the IRS mileage rate. This program is available within 50 miles of Portland.
In Class	50 min Workshop Session	429.00	A one session program with students- 50 minutes.
In Class	Teacher Workshop	429.00	A 60 minute workshop for teachers.
In Class	Residency Session	107.00	Residency session prices are based on a 50 minute session. Some artists may prefer different session lengths and will pro-rate the cost.
