About the Artist
1. Visual art is way to express yourself and learn about yourself through the art forms.
2. Visual art enhances your cooperative and collaborative skills, as well as boosts your confidence.
3. Visual art strengthens your visual literacy. Visual art is a vehicle for understanding cycles.
Christian likes to focus on the importance of visual art materials: learn about the types, textures, where the materials came from, the history of this art and the material, and the social implications of using these materials. This wood is from the 1800s, we don’t have that tree anymore, but here it is in a different form. We have this wood, it came from Venezuela. Why is it this color? Because it came from a jungle, tropical place. Understanding the history, origin materials and how the origin affects its look/texture.
Christian works in the mediums of photography, painting, marquetry (wood) and paper mache (3D).
Christian’s goal is to teach kids confidence, collaboration, and self-esteem. He likes to work with kids because you can see how they can react with something simple and how something small can change the world.
