I Am From Earth

A travelogue through music and languages. Martin Zarzar tells his story of growing up in many countries through the rhythms and songs of his childhood and beyond. A one human show featuring percussion, voice, guitar, and piano, transports us through the cultures, languages, and unique characters that shaped Martin’s life. With folk songs and rhythms, storytelling and sing-alongs, we travel together on the exciting and sometimes uncertain path of discovery that is growing up in many very different places – ultimately finding a home and a place of belonging in a constantly changing world.

My band includes you. I like to include the audience as much as possible and the performance is sprinkled with moments of participation through percussion and singing. I also use a looping pedal to create interesting atmospheres as a background to the storytelling part of the experience. No prior music experience is required, it all flows very naturally.
