High Impact Mural Making

Cathy will lead students to paint a mural in collaboration. Select classes or grade levels will assist with designing a large scale mural to a chosen theme. Cathy will take the student design suggestions and consolidate them into a unified design. The mural design will be transferred to the wall by the artist and prepared for the students to fill in the design like a paint-by-number style painting. The mural would be designed in a way to allow for everyone to participate that would like to participate. Mural making like this builds a personal connection to a community through the physicality of mark making in a positive way. Cathy’s mural designs and color choices are always bright and joyful with high impact and attention to detail. The mural will be touched up with any finishing details after all the students have had their chance to paint. Protective coatings are optional.

This project can be completed directly on a wall or painted on panels that can be installed once completed. Past mural themed have included school spirit, community centered, academic programing, character building, stem and steam, and place-making.
