Teaching Philosophy
Her teaching philosophy includes that music (and the arts) are a language that can be learned by any willing student or person, and that immersion is part of acquiring that language. She focuses on social emotional learning as well as resiliency for students to meet challenges and explore new skills.
She also focuses on self expression and healing as a primary reason for acquiring musical and language skills. She is informed by her experience both as a musician and writer, as well as her experience as an educator in early childhood settings (Reggio Emilia), youth and teen.
Students are encouraged to bring their own feelings, experiences and stories into the classroom, giving purpose and meaning to the music we create together.
Testimonial
I don't have a quote for this specifically, but I do have a lot of parent testimonials from students I have taught. Let me know what might work or I can dig a little for something like this.
