Using things found in the world around them (a book), students will make observations and then improvise moves that feel connected to their source inspiration. Developing creativity in dance requires experimentation and exploration using a variety of sources as inspiration for movement to represent personal and/or symbolic meaning.

Students will be introduced to the art of songwriting. We will explore two major elements of songwriting: lyrics and melody. Students will also work collaboratively and will practice the art of listening and building as a team.

This project will encourage creativity and self-expression, helping them reflect on their identities and how they interact with the world.

Students will observe and discuss meaning and mark making in Joan Miró's work and collaboratively create their own connections between emotions, lines and shapes. Then, students will individually create Miró inspired drawings.
