Right Brain Initiative Residency

Students will learn how to recognize and express one or all 7 key traits of human resilience: Unity, Clarity, Truth, Love, Empowerment, Creativity, Trust. Students are challenged to discover, create and demonstrate their expression of emotions of words through creative movement.

Inspirational stories and poems by or about prominent African American figures, such as Maya Angelo, Nikki Giovanni, Alice Walker, Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, Langston Hughes are used to present examples of lives of great resilience.

If a different African American figure is desired, that request can be accommodated.
