The Dragon Dance with Jill Giedt
Learning Target: I can recreate my real-life relationships as choreography. I can watch how dancers interact with each other and see how it connects with my life/human stories.
Learning Summary: Students will learn to express themselves through movement and the art of ballet. The guided videos will take them along the journey of a dragon and allow them to observe how different stages of the story make them feel.
Arts Standard: Art: DA.10.CO1.3. Compare the relationships expressed in a dance to relationships in one’s own life.
SEL Standard: "Standard 1: Self-Awareness & Identity: Identify and reflect upon one’s thoughts, emotions, behaviors, intersectional identity, and capabilities across situations and environments.", "Standard 3: Social Awareness & Belonging: Develop social awareness that fosters a sense of belonging and leads to co-constructing equitable, thriving communities and a vibrant society."
