Rhythm and Motion with Dennis J Dove
Learning Target: I can create a musical idea/composition with rhythm that reflects myself and my community.
Learning Summary: Students will learn about rhythm, find their unique rhythm voice, and compose a rhythm beat. Throughout the lesson, students will build a sense of mindfulness and respect for themselves, their peers, and their instruments.
Arts Standard: Art: MU.1.CR1.4. Improvise rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic ideas, and explain connection to specific purpose and context (such as social and cultural). Generate musical ideas (such as rhythms, melodies, and simple accompaniment patterns) within related tonalities (such as major and minor) and meters.
SEL Standard: "Standard 4: Relationship Skills & Collaborative Problem-Solving: Establish and maintain healthy, supportive relationships and effectively navigate diverse settings in order to collaboratively solve problems."
