Different Ways to Communicate with Rikki Jo Hickey
Learning Target: I can communicate the emotional state of a character in a dramatic play. I can use physical gestures and movement to communicate what’s going on inside a character.
Learning Summary: Students will be introduced to theatrical improvisation based on Viola Spolin’s Improvisation for the Theatre and Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed methodologies combined with classic literature and influenced by The Happy Child; Conscious Discipline; and Mental Health First Aid training.
Arts Standard: TH.6.PR3.1 Use movement & gestures to convey emotions
SEL Standard: "Standard 1: Self-Awareness & Identity: Identify and reflect upon one’s thoughts, emotions, behaviors, intersectional identity, and capabilities across situations and environments."
