Crafting Community Through Storytelling with Orion Bradshaw
Learning Target: I can investigate and discover various cultural perspectives to tell Stories that are meaningful to my community. I can understand how compassionate communication/ observation, and specific Storytelling choices (both verbal and physical) help me tell stories about humanity and the human experience.
Learning Summary: Students will investigate, self-reflect, and share their personal stories in various ways - while also practicing deep listening, observation, and collaboration processes to create and share a variety of stories about individual and communal identities, culture, interests, and concerns.
Arts Standard: TH.10.CO1.5. Explain (and demonstrate) how Drama/Theatre connects oneself to a community and/ or culture.
SEL Standard: "Standard 1: Self-Awareness & Identity: Identify and reflect upon one’s thoughts, emotions, behaviors, intersectional identity, and capabilities across situations and environments.", "Standard 3: Social Awareness & Belonging: Develop social awareness that fosters a sense of belonging and leads to co-constructing equitable, thriving communities and a vibrant society."
