Animal Habitats in Clay for Teachers

Educators will learn about ceramic hand-building techniques and tools as they explore methods for creating funky, furry, and scaly creatures. Methods for forming, texturing, and surfacing will be succinctly demonstrated as participants get comfortable with new techniques for kiln fired clay.

Discussion of integration techniques for curriculum support and skills for solving common clay dilemmas will be covered.

Jess Graff has delivered arts-based programs in the Pacific NW for nearly 15 years. She has participated in many gallery shows and residency programs at schools, art centers, and museums. Her work ranges from sculptural ceramics to fibers and paint media.
