June Teacher Workshops: Arts for Learning

Are you a 3rd-5th grade teacher and looking for an easy way to integrate the arts into reading and writing lessons for your students? Join Young Audiences in Portland and Salem for two upcoming trainings in the Arts for Learning Curriculum, an engaging literacy enrichment program that has been shown to improve important reading and writing skills by integrating the arts.

The Salem Workshop will take place on Thursday, June 18th from 8:30am-4:30pm at the Salem Central Library (585 Liberty St. SE) and focus on nonfiction reading, note-taking and synthesis in writing, and the art form of collage.

The Portland Workshop will take place on Tuesday, June 23rd from 8:30am-4:30pm at Idealist (209 SW Oak St.) and focus on reading and writing personal narratives, and the art form of theater. Workshops are $250 for individual teachers; $500 for school teams of up to 5 teachers/staff.
